Family Fun
The Wilmslow Community Show promises a great day out for all the family.
Whether you want to ride a waltzer or a donkey, you can do it in our show. There are garden games, crazy goals or inflatables- whether you are 5 or 15. Although some of the attractions are chargeable, some are included in the entry price (thanks to Wilmslow Town Council)- so if you are on a budget, there is still lots you can do without spending a fortune.
Lots of community groups and charities will be with us as will a number of local businesses.
If you want to get involved- there are lots you can do. How about entering some of your home baking or other homemade cooking in the cookery competition? There are classes for young people as well as adults. If you have a potentially prize-winning pooch, bring them along to the free to enter Dog Show. Have a car manufactured before 1983? Enter it into the Car Show.
If you would rather watch than do, there is a full afternoon of activities in the animal arena and the bandstand as well as a bar and catering on site (and a dedicated picnic area if you want to being your own food).
If you fancy some retail therapy, there is a range of stalls outside- with both traders and local Community groups showing off their wares. ‘Art under canvas’ in association with the Evans Arts Trust returns this year. That is a marquee dedicated to showcasing the work of local artists- with an opportunity to talk to the artists about their work and to buy a piece you love.
There are cookery demonstrations throughout the day on our army field kitchen- both by local chefs and the army catering corps so it will be worth visiting- and seeing whether you agree with the judge’s choice for best preserve or show-stopping cake!
Whatever you feel like eating and drinking, you should find something to take your fancy as we have a range of catering outlets throughout the ground.
No matter how diverse your family or how choosy your children, we really believe we have something for everyone!
