Music line up is confirmed
The bandstand was virtually the first thing we filled this year and I am happy to share who we have joining us for 5 hours of live music. All the Acts are Cheshire based and virtually all have Wilmslow based performers within them.
As always we have a mix of youth and experience (or old age/take your pick!) and a variety of music as well.
Pownall Hall School choir will be just nipping up the road to perform for us and Wilmslow Rock Choir will be kicking off the day. CHYPS pantomime will be joining us again to sing a selection of the songs they have been performing in concert.
Well-known local act BlackSheepLad will be on the stage early afternoon, as will the The Recliners who are joining us having performed recently at the Alderley Edge May Day. The line up is completed by Living on the iO who are back for a second year, after a stellar performance in 2022.
Timings are yet to be announce but watch this space….
July will soon be here!
Really conscious we haven’t posted since last year’s show but I promise we have been working behind the scenes!
Today’s news is that the classic car show is back as part of the Wilmslow Community Show. It is just a bit of fun but we are asking owners of classic, vintage and veteran cars to fill in the entry forms and come and join us on the day.
I’ll come back with more news in due course but the band stand is fully booked, the cookery marquee and ‘Art under Canvas’ are also back so it looks like it will be a good Show.
It’s all nearly together!
If you look under family fun on the website, you can see who is performing in the main arena and on the bandstand. All the chefs are also listed for the Cookery marquee. Timings will vary until the day so look when you arrive as the timings will be posted at each venue.
The weather looks promising so we are truly good to go!

Ready, get set bake….. (or boil or fry!)
This year we have a dedicated cookery marquee for the first time ever at the Show. So we are going to be hosting a fun cookery competition for adults and children. Whether you fancy doing a show-stopping bake or a preserve is more your thing, you’ll find a class to suit you. You can prepare at home and delivery it to the marquee on the day just in time for the judging.
As there isn’t such as a free bake, we are asking for a tinned food donation as your entry ‘fee’. That donation will go to Hope Central who operate a food bank for local residents.
Obviously, if you win you get bragging rights (if that’s your thing) but as well as your certificate, you will also get a gift voucher for the Great Little Red Bus Tea Room. The Tea Room (in a bus, obviously) is open from February- October on Racecourse Road- which is roughly 400meters from the showground. We are very grateful to them for their support.
Our first sponsor of 2022 confirmed!

Fire and wheels and danger!
Stuntworld International have been wowing audiences world wide for over 50 years (not the same stunt people for that long obviously!). And this year, they are joining us at the Wilmslow Community Show to headline in the main arena.
Without spoiling all the surprise, they will be on two wheels, four wheels, upside down, on their side and at least one of them ends up on fire. Clearly, they are highly trained so don’t go and try this a home….
Ticket booking is now open and you can find a link on the home page of the website.
Our first post of 2022!
The application forms for trade and community stands are now live on the site.
There is a reduction in the price of trade stands if they are booked before the 31st March 2022. That is our way of saying welcome back and thanking you for making a commitment to the Wilmslow Community Show.
We are thrilled skinny to say that Wilmslow Town Council are again supporting the Community and Charity stalls allowing groups to come for free or at a heavily subsidised rate (if you want a larger space).
We are really keen for the show to be a window on the best the town has to offer. We’d love it if even long time residents leave having learnt something new about what’s on offer in Wilmslow!
Art marquee
This year we will be having a marquee dedicated to the art community in Wilmslow and surrounding area for the first time. It is very exciting!
‘Artists under canvas’ which is sponsored by the Evans Arts Trust, is hoping to showcase the wide variety of talented artists- working in a variety of mediums – that we have locally. Designed to give artists an opportunity to showcase (and sell) their work, we hoping to build on the success of the Art trail and Artists under one Roof.
In the next few weeks, we will be posting the details of how to apply and what the criteria is to be in the marquee.
We are hoping this will compliment the craft and artisan producers that we already hosting at the Show.
Watch this space for more information!
Sunday 5th July
The 2020 Wilmslow Community Show will be on Sunday 5th July. We have, of course, ordered sunshine!
We have some new features in the planning and some old favourites but most of all we can promise a festival of all that is brilliant about Wilmslow!
We would love to find a Primary school who want to come and perform in our bandstand area- if you know a school who may be interested, please ask a teacher to get in touch via the contact form.
